Recent evidence indicates that several neuronal proteins bearing low-complexity domains undergo dynamic structural transitions underlying their functional activation. This thesis project aims at studying the evolution, structure and function of DNA- and RNA-binding proteins, bearing low-complexity domains, involved in the development and function of the nervous system.
