A position for undergraduate students is available at LACM, related to bioinformatics and membrane transporters in cancer physiopathology.

Published: Friday, May 28, 2021 by Elena Mazzi

The Cellular and Molecular Angiogenesis Lab (LACM @ DBIOS, UniTo) is currently looking for a motivated undergraduate student for a bioinformatics research project dealing with the analysis of Pancreatic Ductal AdenoCarcinoma (PDAC) public datasets. The computational analysis will aim at profiling the transcriptional alterations involving the transportome (i.e. ion channels and transporters) and its molecular function of interface to the extracellular microenvironment. In addition, a follow-up analysis of the whole panel of purinergic ionotropic receptors will be set up to test the possible presence of a PDAC-related P2RX expression pattern. The activity would be entirely based on computational methods (no wet-lab involvement) and some previous coding experience is recommended.
