Research topics
The main research efforts are in the study of pathophysiological mechanisms involved in neurodegenerative and neuroinflammatory disorders.
A particular attention is drawn on the properties and functions of the blood brain barrier (BBB), considered as potential pharmacological target in the diseases of the central nervous system and the crosstalk occurring between endothelial cells and glial cells (astrocytes and microglia).
